• Gardyn yCovers: These stylish silicone inserts fit perfectly on Gardyn yCubes to block light from creating unwanted growth on the surface of the growing medium. You can use yCovers as soon as your sprouts are strong enough and ready for plant food. yCovers improve the health and growth of your plants and help keep your Gardyn clean.
• How To Use: To properly place the yCover on, make sure you stretch the cover around your plant- these are very strong, and you won't rip it- so don't worry! You can do this whatever way tends to work best for the plant but stretching the yCover around the plant allows you to limit any damage that is done to the stem of the plant. You want to ensure the plant is centered in the yCover hole, and there are no leaves that are covered by the yCover.
• yCover Use: To use the yCovers without inhibiting growth, it is important to only place the yCover on a sprout when it is well established with true leaves! Never place a yCover on a yCube that has not germinated- this will trap in too much moisture causing germination issues! The yCover should only be placed on the yCube when the plant is ready for food, and you have properly thinned the sprouts.
• When To Remove: The yCover should be removed when it is blocking or inhibiting the growth of the plant. Also at this time, the plant is large enough to naturally shade the cube.
